In January 2026, Times Higher Education released its World University Rankings 2026 by subject, and our university was ranked 1251+ in the "Engineering" category, marking our eighth consecutive year of being ranked since the World University Rankings 2019 by subject.

The world university rankings by academic field evaluate and rank universities worldwide in each academic field. The evaluation criteria are determined based on a variety of indicators, including Teaching, Research environment, Research quality, Industry, and International Outlook, and our university received a high rating in the "International Outlook" criterion.

In the "Engineering" category, 79 universities in Japan were ranked, and only two universities in Hokkaido were included: our university and Hokkaido University.

With the motto "Creating future value through genuine curiosity," our university is advancing educational reforms based on the achievements of over 40,000 alumni, and is striving to cultivate science and engineering students who can contribute to the local community and the world.
