Muroran Institute of Technology Graduate School of Engineering awards a master's degree to students who have acquired the following abilities during the master's program.

  1. Expertise and development capabilities
    Students will systematically acquire advanced specialized knowledge and skills, and by utilizing these knowledge and basic research skills, they will acquire the ability to independently identify problems and propose solutions.

Graduate School of Engineering (Master's Program) Curriculum Policy

Muroran Institute of Technology Graduate School of Engineering has developed a curriculum for its Master's program based on the following policies with the aim of nurturing talented individuals who have acquired the skills outlined in the diploma policy.

1. Curriculum composition

    By arranging courses that serve as pillars of specialized fields and advanced courses, students will Professor world-class advanced specialized knowledge, and cultivate the ability to identify and solve problems through seminars, special research, and research guidance.

    By taking courses in other courses, courses common to the entire university, and courses that teach specialized information and data processing technology, students will develop the ability to find solutions to a wide range of problems from a broad perspective.

In addition to the three-level grading system for passing, grades will be converted into a score (GP) as described above, which will be used by students to confirm their own progress in achieving their learning outcomes and as reference data for rankings by the graduate school.

(5) Disclosure of Grade Information (For students enrolled in FY2019 and after)

The academic affairs system will be used to disclose to students grades and GP for each course, GPA for each semester, and cumulative GPA, allowing them to check these themselves.

(6) Review of evaluation

The results of the grade evaluation will be regularly reviewed by the Education System Committee using the distribution of grades, etc., and improvements will be made to teaching methods, etc., if necessary.

Graduate School of Engineering (Doctoral Program) Diploma Policy

Muroran Institute of Technology Graduate School of Engineering will award a doctoral degree to students in the doctoral program who have acquired the following abilities:
